Jhalokati: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today held its 186th public hearing in Jhalokati, aimed at building a corruption-free country. The ACC's integrated district office in Pirojpur organized the public hearing, where ACC Commissioner Miah Muhammad Ali Akbar Azizi was present as the chief guest. Addressing the public hearing, he urged all to keep relevant offices corruption-free on their own responsibility, adding, "We need to change our mentality to build a corruption-free society."
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Commissioner Azizi emphasized that the initiative to eradicate corruption must start from individuals' homes. He highlighted the necessity of avoiding personal greed and lust to ensure that others are not deprived of their rights. The event was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Ashrafur Rahman, with ACC Director General Md Akhter Hossain, Superintendent of Police Ujjal Kumar Roy, and ACC Barisal Director Md Mozahar Ali Sardar among the notable attendees.
During the public hearing, a total of 95 complaints were filed against government, autonomous, and private offices. The hearing addressed 74 complaints listed in the ACC's schedule. Following the discussions, it was decided that the ACC would investigate four of these complaints, marking a proactive step in their ongoing efforts to address corruption.
