Tangail: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-14 arrested Ismail Hossain, 55, an accused in a rape case, who allegedly raped a disabled girl on March 25 in Tangail.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accused, a resident of Kalihati thana, reportedly raped a speech and hearing-impaired girl in his house. The victim later communicated the incident through gestures, and a medical test confirmed she was 26 weeks pregnant.
Following the filing of a case on October 9 under the Women and Children Repression Prevention (amendment) Act, 2003, a RAB team tracked down the accused and arrested him in the Deldowar area. The accused was subsequently handed over to the police.
