ICT-1 Sets Deadline for Probe Report in Fazle Karim’s Crimes Against Humanity Case

Chattogram: The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 has scheduled November 12 as the deadline for submitting the probe report in a case concerning crimes against humanity allegedly committed in Chattogram. The case involves former Chattogram-6 lawmaker ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury during the July-August Mass Uprising.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the decision was made by the three-judge panel of ICT-1, led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder. The tribunal granted the prosecution's request for additional time to prepare the report. Prosecutor Abdullah Al-Noman presented the plea to the tribunal, which was subsequently approved.

So far, four individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. The accused include ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, Azizur Rahman, Tauhidul Islam, and Md Feroz. In a previous development, the court ordered Chowdhury's arrest on February 16, 2025, and he has since been in custody.
