Dhaka: Health officials today reported 953 new cases of dengue fever, resulting in six fatalities within the past 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) released a statement detailing the distribution of new cases across various divisions. Of the 953 new cases, 141 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 107 in Chattogram division, 197 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 122 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 147 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. Additional cases included 93 in Khulna division, 46 in Mymensingh division, 69 in Rajshahi division, 23 in Rangpur division, and eight in Sylhet division.
Since the beginning of the dengue outbreak this year, Bangladesh has recorded 230 deaths and 54,559 cases of the disease. In comparison, the previous year saw 575 fatalities and 101,214 cases across the country.
