Dhaka: Mohd Khorshed Alam has been elected President and Jamilur Rahman Secretary General of the Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) for the 2025-2027 term. BCCCI Election Board Chairman Md. Sayed Ali announced the names of the 24 newly elected Executive Committee (EC) members on October 8.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the charge-handover ceremony was held on October 9 at the BCCCI office in the capital's Gulshan area, as detailed in a press release. The event was presided over by Mst. Nargis Murshida, Administrator of BCCCI and Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce. Most of the newly elected EC members were present on the occasion.
During the ceremony, Nargis Murshida formally handed over the charge of the chamber to the newly elected President Mohd Khorshed Alam, acknowledging his contributions during the chamber's challenging period that led to the election. As there was no contesting panel or individual candidate, all officials were elected uncontested. The bi-annual election was conducted under the supervision of Administrator Nargis Murshida.
The newly elected Executive Committee members include Mohd. Khorshed Alam, Managing Director of Intimate International Ltd. (Little Group) as President, and Jamilur Rahman, Managing Director of Extol (Bangladesh) Ltd. as Secretary General. Other notable appointments are Han Jingchao as Senior Vice President, AZM Azizur Rahman and Birg Gen G. M. Quamrul Islam as Senior Vice Presidents, and several Vice Presidents, Directors, and other key roles.
During the event, the outgoing Administrator presented a statement detailing the earnings and expenditures during her tenure. Former senior vice presidents, vice presidents, and members of the previous committee also attended the handover ceremony.
