Dhaka: The country's general point-to-point inflation rate experienced a slight increase, reaching 8.36 percent in September 2025, compared to 8.29 percent in August 2025. This data comes from the latest figures released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the increase in inflation was primarily driven by a hike in both food and non-food inflation. The BBS data indicated that point-to-point food inflation rose to 7.64 percent in September, up from 7.60 percent in August. Meanwhile, the non-food inflation rate also saw an increase, reaching 8.98 percent in September, compared to 8.90 percent in the previous month.

Inflation trends in both rural and urban areas recorded slight increases during the same period, reflecting broader economic pressures across various regions of the country.
