Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) is ramping up its preparations for the forthcoming 13th national parliamentary elections by organizing crucial dialogues with media personnel, election experts, and women leaders scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. The aim of these consultations is to collect valuable insights and recommendations from various stakeholders to facilitate a transparent and secure voting process.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the dialogues will be spearheaded by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin and will take place at the EC Secretariat conference room in the Agargaon area of the city. Alongside the CEC, four election commissioners and senior officials from the EC secretariat will also participate in these discussions.

The EC has planned a session with journalists from electronic media on Monday from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, followed by a meeting with print media journalists from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Md Ruhul Amin Mallik, Director (Public Relations) and Information Officer of the EC Secretariat, stated that these dialogues are part of the commission’s effort to integrate feedback from journalists, election experts, and women leaders into their planning.

On Tuesday, the EC will continue its consultations with election experts from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and will engage with women leaders from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. This ongoing series of discussions is a segment of the EC’s broader strategic initiatives, which were initially launched on September 28. The commission aims to gather input from a wide array of groups, including political parties, prominent educators, intellectuals, civil society members, observers, and ‘July fighters’.
