Dhaka: Bangladesh Jamaat-e Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has emphasized the importance for Islamic scholars and Alems to gain proficiency in modern science and technology. He highlighted this necessity to ensure that the message of Islam can be effectively conveyed to people of all backgrounds, regardless of religion, race, or caste.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman made these remarks while serving as the chief guest at a Dayee and Waez conference held at Al Falah Auditorium in Mogbazar. The event was presided over by Mawlana Abdul Halim, Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and President of the party’s Central Ulama Committee. Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar and Assistant Secretary General Mawlana Rafiqul Islam Khan also participated as special guests.
Dr. Mawlana Khalilur Rahman Madani, Central Working Committee Member and Secretary of the Central Ulama Committee, conducted the program. Dr. Shafiqur Rahman advised the Waez to exercise compassion and follow the principles of Prophet Mohammad (Sm), cautioning against rudeness or aggression. He reminded them of their responsibilities and the importance of maintaining honesty and a sense of accountability.
The Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer further cautioned Islamic scholars against engaging in activities that could lead to self-degradation or harm social unity. The conference saw participation from notable Islamic preachers and dayees from across the country, including former Principal of Ta’mirul Millat Kamil Madrasa Mawlana Zainul Abedin, Chairman of the Trustee Board of Bangladesh Islami University Mawlana Syed Kamal Uddin Jafri, and former Principal of Gopalganj Alia Madrasah Mawlana Abdul Hamid.
