Chess Mate Dominates Top of Points Table

Dhaka: Chess Mate is at the top of the points table with 14 points after the 8th or penultimate round of the 2nd Division Chess League held at Bangladesh Chess Federation Hall-Room today. Rajpara Chess Club follows closely in second place with 13 points. Chess Mate Alpha, Bangladesh Chess Arena, and Asad Chess Club, Habiganj, jointly share the third position with 11 points. Six teams are currently in fourth place with ten points each.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the teams in fourth place include Debonair Chess Club, Ipsha Chess, Pawn Power Chess Club, Dabar Troiye Agrage Smaran Sangha, Mollah Chess Club, and Chess Code Academy, Chittagong. The 8th round matches saw Check Mate defeating Pin Chess Power by 3-1 game points, while Rajpara Chess Club triumphed over Ipsha Chess by 2.5-1.5 game points.

In other matches, Asad Chess Club, Habiganj defeated Malibagh Chess Club by 2.5-1.5 game points, and Pawn Power Chess Club secured a win against Goalundo Chess Club by 3.5-0.5 game points. Chess Code Academy, Chittagong defeated Mondal Sporting Club, Rajshahi by 2.5-1.5 game points, and Debonair Chess Club overcame Pioneer Chess Club by 3-1 game points. Dabaru Spandan Chess Club claimed victory over Mohammadpur Chess Club by 3.5-0.5 game points. Additionally, Check Mate Alpha drew with Bangladesh Chess Arena by 2-2 game points, and Mollah Chess Club drew with Dabar Troiye Agrage Smaran Sangha by 2-2 game points.
