Rajshahi: Home Secretary Nasimul Gani has called on the honest sections of society to be vocal against anti-state elements, emphasizing the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining societal integrity. "Activities of the dishonest people can't destroy the society but are destroyed by the silence of the honest people," he stated, urging citizens to not remain passive.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Home Secretary made these remarks during a meeting with government officials from all eight districts under the Rajshahi division. The meeting, which took place at the conference hall of the Primary Teachers Institute, included discussions on the country's evolving situation. The event was chaired by Commissioner of Rajshahi Division Khondoker Azim Ahmed and featured contributions from Deputy Inspector General of Police Dr. Muhammad Shahjahan, Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Muhammad Abu Sufian, and Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Afia Akhter.
Highlighting the demographic shift, Nasimul Gani noted that forty percent of the country's population is composed of Generation-Z, who have lived through the July 36 revolution and are demanding justice. He acknowledged a failure to meet the aspirations of this new generation, admitting, "We could not discharge our duties as per the demands of the new generation. Actually, we have failed to understand their aspiration."
The Home Secretary further reminded public servants of their responsibilities, stressing that their roles are not merely for financial gain but to serve the public with sincerity and honesty. He urged the attending officials to perform their duties with dedication to ensure that the public can fully benefit from their services.
