Manikganj: A man was killed allegedly by his cousins at Athalia village under Dhalla Union in Singair upazila of the district this afternoon. The deceased was identified as Hanif, 55, son of Ela Bepari of the village. He was a driver of a physician at Momtaj Eye Hospital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Hanif's daughter Smriti stated that there had been a longstanding conflict between their family and his cousins. Around 3:30 pm today, his cousins Shadhin and Jahangir allegedly attacked him with sharp weapons, killing him on the spot.
Singair Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) JOM Toufiq Azam reported that police rushed to the spot, recovered the body, and sent it to Manikganj Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
