Dengue Outbreak in Bangladesh: 3 Deaths and 556 New Cases Reported Overnight

Dhaka: Health officials today reported 556 new cases of dengue, resulting in three fatalities over the past 24 hours.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed that among the 556 new cases, 137 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 70 in Chattogram division, 79 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 113 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 101 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. Additionally, 28 cases were recorded in Mymensingh division, 25 in Rajshahi division, and three in Sylhet division.



Since the onset of the dengue outbreak this year, Bangladesh has reported 198 deaths and 47,342 cases. In comparison, last year saw 575 fatalities and 101,214 cases due to the disease.
