Pirojpur: A youth met a fatal accident after becoming entangled in a rope tied across the road for tree cutting in Nesarabad upazila. The victim, identified as 23-year-old Md. Tanim, was a resident of Panaullahpur village in the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the incident occurred on the Swarupkathi-Pirojpur road in the Sehangal area. Tanim was traveling on a motorcycle with his friend Anis, who was driving, when the accident occurred. Anis managed to duck upon seeing the rope, but Tanim, seated behind, did not notice it in time. The rope caught around Tanim’s neck, causing him to fall from the motorcycle.
Tanim sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Nesarabad Upazila Health Complex, where the attending medical staff pronounced him dead. Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Boni Amin of Nesarabad Police Station confirmed the incident, stating that Tanim’s body has been recovered and brought to the police station. Legal actions are currently underway regarding the incident.
