Chattogram: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) conducted a raid at the Chattogram Education Board (CEB) to investigate allegations of fraudulent activities in the re-verification process of this year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination answer sheets. The operation was spearheaded by ACC Assistant Director Syed Mohammad Imran Hossain.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the raid was initiated following a complaint regarding possible tampering of results in 34 answer sheets during the re-verification process. In response, the ACC collected relevant documents and interviewed officials from the Education Board to gather information about the alleged irregularities.
Earlier, on September 11, CEB had established an investigation committee to look into these allegations concerning the 2025 SSC exam results. The committee, comprising three members and led by Mohammad Ekramul Haque, Deputy Director of the Board's Accounts and Audit Branch, initially submitted its findings on September 18. However, the deadline for the report has been extended by an additional 15 working days.
CEB Chairman Prof Ilias Uddin Ahmed confirmed that the ACC officials requested information from the board and emphasized their cooperation with the investigation. He reassured that the board is taking the matter seriously and has already formed an investigation committee to address the issue. The delay in the committee's report submission was attributed to a busy examination schedule.
The SSC re-examination results, published on August 10, indicated changes in the marks of 1,669 students and adjustments in the GPA of 646 students. Moreover, 64 students who had previously failed managed to pass, and 65 students achieved a new GPA-5. Overall, the updated results showed that 101,245 students passed in Chattogram this year, with 11,908 students obtaining GPA-5.
