Bangladesh Showcases Export Potential at Sabah Investment and Trade Expo 2025

Kota kinabalu: Bangladesh has made its debut at the ‘Sabah Investment and Trade Expo 2025 (SITE 2025)’, marking a significant step in strengthening trade relations with Malaysia. The event is being held in Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah province, and is organized by the Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI) over three days from September 26 to 28 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the expo was officially inaugurated by Sabah Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Works, Datuk Shahelmey Yahya. Following the inauguration, he visited the booths of several participating countries, including Bangladesh. The Bangladesh pavilion featured a range of exportable products such as food and beverages, jute products, leather products, ceramics, plastic products, and ready-made garments.



Acting High Commissioner Mosammat Shahanara Monica extended a warm welcome to the guests at the Bangladesh booth, providing insights into the country’s diverse export offerings. She also appealed to the state government for support in expanding the market for Bangladeshi products within Sabah.



In recognition of Bangladesh’s participation, Datuk Shahelmey Yahya awarded certificates of appreciation to the Acting High Commissioner and representatives of Bangladeshi institutions. On the second day of the expo, the Acting High Commissioner engaged with FSI President Natalie Fung, former president Datuk Richard Lim, and other federation representatives. The federation leaders, at the request of the Acting High Commissioner, expressed an interest in visiting Bangladesh, signaling potential future collaborations.
