Dhaka: BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has declared that the era of old politics is over in Bangladesh. 'Public expectations in politics are changing, and people want to see BNP as an ideal party. The days of old politics are gone, and since the July uprising, there has been a significant shift in people's psychological outlook,' he stated. He made these remarks during the prize-giving ceremony of the 'Zia Swimming Carnival' organized by Dhaka North City BNP at Zia Udyan in the capital today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Khasru emphasized the necessity for a change in political mindset, stating that embracing new political transformations is crucial. He mentioned that people aspire to see BNP as an ideal party and warned that failing to achieve this would hinder the country's progress. He highlighted the importance of vision and foresightedness in today's politics, noting that stereotype politics is no longer viable. He urged for inspiration among the youth with fresh ideas.
Khasru also underscored the significance of promoting sports, advocating for its development to a new level. He asserted that alongside politics and the economy, sports should be democratized to provide equal opportunities for everyone. He referred to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and his family's passion for sports, revealing plans to establish sports centers in every region of the country. These centers aim to offer opportunities in cricket, football, swimming, and other games based on people's talents and interests.
Under Tarique Rahman's leadership, Khasru expressed optimism that a substantial dream for the nation's sporting sector would be realized, contributing to a positive global image of Bangladesh. He emphasized that achieving this vision would require everyone's cooperation.
The event was chaired by BNP Sports Secretary and Dhaka North City BNP Convener Aminul Haque, while Member Secretary Mostafa Zaman conducted the programme.
