5 Deaths from Dengue Reported, 668 Infected Across Bangladesh

Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 668 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least five persons in the past 24 hours.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that among the 668 new cases, 158 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 106 in Chattogram division, and 126 in Dhaka division excluding the capital. Additionally, 73 cases were recorded in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 94 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. Other regions affected include Khulna division with 41 cases, Mymensingh division with 30, Rajshahi division with 35, and five in Rangpur division.



This year, Bangladesh has witnessed a total of 187 deaths caused by dengue, with 43,841 individuals infected to date. In comparison, last year the dengue outbreak resulted in 575 fatalities and infected 101,214 people across the country.
