Lakshmipur: A schoolboy was killed in a road accident in the Charruhita area of Sadar upazila in the district this morning. The deceased was identified as Nowan Hossain, 12, a class five student of Charruhita Government Primary School and son of Md. Nasir Uddin of Rasulganj area under the same upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, police reported that the accident occurred when a speeding truck hit the boy while he was on his way to school, leaving him critically injured. He was immediately taken to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Md. Abdul Monnaf confirmed the incident, stating that an operation is underway to arrest the truck driver involved in the accident.
