Norda: Police arrested four suspected drug dealers with 1,100 pieces of yaba tablets from the Norda area of the city last night. The arrestees were identified as Hena Akter, 44, Md Saikat Islam, 20, Md Siraj Ahmed Rifat, 21, and Md Khairul Islam, 19.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, acting on secret information, a team from Gulshan Police Station conducted a raid in the area, detaining the suspects and recovering the drugs. Alongside the yaba tablets, Tk 2.37 lakh in cash was also recovered from their possession.
During primary interrogation, the suspects admitted that they had brought the yaba tablets to distribute at various locations across the capital. Cases have been filed against them at Gulshan Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act.
