Health Officials Report 12 Deaths, 740 Fresh Cases of Dengue Infection Overnight

Dhaka: A total of 12 dengue patients died and 740 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the last 24 hours till 8am today. The information was revealed in a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during this period, 165 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 77 in Chattogram division, 147 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 115 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 122 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. Additionally, 52 patients were admitted in Khulna division, 22 in Mymensingh division, 28 in Rajshahi division, three in Rangpur division, and nine in Sylhet division.



Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh this year has witnessed a total of 179 deaths while the disease has affected 41,831 individuals. Last year, dengue claimed 575 lives and infected 101,214 people in the country.
