BNP Repeatedly Rises Like Phoenix Bird Defeating Conspirators: Fakhrul

Kishoreganj: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today asserted that his party continually experiences rebirth, akin to a phoenix bird, overcoming various plots against it. He made these remarks while speaking at the inaugural session of the Kishoreganj district BNP’s triennial council.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Fakhrul emphasized the resilience of BNP against numerous conspiracies aimed at dismantling it, noting that these plots ultimately failed, leading instead to the departure of the conspirators from the country. He delivered his speech at the old stadium in the town, highlighting the symbolic resilience of the party in the face of adversity.



The event was marked by the anticipated virtual appearance of BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, who was scheduled to join as the chief guest. The conference, held after a nine-year hiatus, commenced with the national anthem, the hoisting of national and party flags, and the rendition of the party song, setting a patriotic tone for the proceedings.



The morning saw a surge of enthusiasm as leaders and activists from various upazilas of the district arrived in processions, adding to the festive atmosphere. The gathering attracted several thousand party members, demonstrating the strong grassroots support for BNP in the region.



Special guests included BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Freedom Fighter Abdus Salam, while Joint Secretary General Habibun Nabi Khan Sohel participated as the main speaker. The event was chaired by District BNP President Md. Shariful Alam, with General Secretary Md. Mazharul Islam moderating the program.



The council’s second session, scheduled from 4pm to 8pm, was set to involve 2,090 councilors casting their votes to elect the new president and general secretary for the Kishoreganj district BNP, thereby establishing its new leadership.
