Munshiganj: Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today asserted that the forces opposing the July Uprising are unlikely to come to power again. "They who are against the July Uprising will never come to power again. If you have anything like this in mind, shake it off," he stated while addressing journalists after inaugurating the graffiti titled "July Bravery" and "July Sacrifice" at Mural Square, located at the Mawa end of the Padma Bridge.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Home Adviser emphasized that the forthcoming government will honor the spirit of the July Uprising. He urged citizens to unite in transforming Bangladesh into a nation characterized by justice, equality, and humanity, inspired by the uprising's ethos. "Let us all together build Bangladesh of the July martyrs' dreams, where there will be an unwavering commitment to justice, equality and humanity," he remarked.
He also highlighted that today's event is more than an inaugural ceremony; it aims to educate the younger generation about the significant historical movement. "The graffiti titled 'July Heroism' and 'July Sacrifice' will remind us of how the young society set an example of self-sacrifice for freedom and democracy," he elaborated.
The Home Adviser stressed the importance of remembering the July Mass Uprising not only as a movement but as a struggle for truth and justice. "The movement led by the students united the expectations of the masses and gave a new direction to the nation," he noted.
He further stated that initiatives like these are vital to inspire the youth with the ideals of truth, justice, freedom, and democracy. "It will be our responsibility to remember their sacrifice with respect and at the same time embrace their ideals to move the country forward," he said.
