Chattogram: Charg© d’Affaires of United States Embassy in Dhaka Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson joined senior Bangladesh Armed Forces officials yesterday at Zahurul Haque Cantonment in Chattogram to observe the Exercise Pacific Angel 25.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Exercise Pacific Angel 25 is a multilateral programme that focuses on humanitarian assistance and disaster response, as detailed in a press release issued by US Mission Spokesperson Poornima Rai. The 7-day multilateral exercise brought together nearly 92 US and 90 Bangladesh Air Force personnel, along with two Sri Lanka Air Force medical personnel, the Oregon Air National Guard, and regional partners. The aim was to enhance cooperation in medical readiness, air safety, engineering support, and disaster management operations.
Pacific Angel 25 underscored the ongoing commitment of the United States and Bangladesh to defense cooperation and humanitarian preparedness, enhancing their ability to respond swiftly and effectively to future crises. By simulating real-world crises, Pacific Angel is designed to enhance the capacity of partner nations to respond to natural disasters, build regional resilience, and reinforce long-term security cooperation across the Indo-Pacific.
