Government Reassigns High-Ranking Police Officials Across Various Divisions

Dhaka: The government has transferred eight additional deputy inspectors general (Addl-DIGs) and six superintendents of police (SPs), including two joint commissioners of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), the home ministry announced today.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the ministry issued a circular detailing the transfers. Under the new order, DMP joint commissioners Sultana Nazma Hossain and Md Saleh Uddin have been reassigned as the tourist police chief and to the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) with the rank of Addl-DIG, respectively.



Additionally, the addl. commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP), Md Humaiun Kabir, has been posted to the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) as Addl-DIG. Meanwhile, Addl. DIG of Chattogram police range, Mohammad Riazul Haque, has been transferred to the police telecom unit with the same rank.



PBI’s supernumerary Addl-DIG Mohammad Anwarul Haque has been assigned to police’s Sylhet range, while Barishal Metropolitan Police’s (BMP) additional commissioner, Khandkar Md Shamim Hossain, was attached to police’s Rajshahi range as Addl-DIG. Supernumerary Addl-DIG Md Humaiun Kabir from PBI’s Barishal office has been posted at the police’s Barishal range.



Furthermore, Addl DIG Asma Siddiqa Mili, who was serving as an officer on special duty (OSD) at the home ministry, has been transferred to police’s Traffic and Driving School (TDS).



The circular also stated that DMP’s deputy commissioner Goutam Kumar Biswas was appointed as SP of Chuadanga, while SP of Chuadanga, Khandkar Golam Mowla, was transferred to Police Headquarters as an assistant inspector general (AIG). Railway police’s SP Shakila Soltana has been moved to police’s Dhaka range, PBI SP Momtajul Ehsan Ahammad Humaiun and PBI SP Abu Torab Md Shamsur Rahman to Highways Police, and Special Branch (SB) SP Md Amir Khasrul to DMP as DC.
