Rajshahi: A veterinary teaching hospital and research centre has been inaugurated at Rajshahi University (RU) to provide medicare facilities for domestic and wild animals. RU Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Saleh Hassan Naquib inaugurated the hospital at the premises of the Agriculture faculty building today as the chief guest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the inauguration ceremony was attended by several notable figures, including Pro-VC Professor Farid Uddin Khan, Veterinary and Animal Sciences Faculty Dean Professor Khondoker Mozaffar Hossain, former Dean Professor Jalal Uddin Sarder, and Chairman of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Department Professor Moizur Rahman.
Speaking at the event, VC Prof Saleh Hassan Naquib remarked that the veterinary teaching hospital will serve as a valuable resource for students to gain comprehensive knowledge related to animals and birds. He expressed optimism that the hospital would play a significant role in enhancing livestock and poultry sectors. Additionally, he noted that various other relevant institutions would benefit from the hospital, which is equipped with improved medicare facilities.
