Sylhet: Chief Adviser's special assistant to the ICT ministry, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, has urged entrepreneurs and investors to channel their investments into Sylhet Hi-Tech Park. "The government is working on how to utilize the existing ICT facilities in various sectors of Sylhet. Now, Sylhet Hi-Tech Park has around 74 acres of land ready for allocation," he stated.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Taiyeb made these remarks as the chief guest at a meeting focused on the newly-formulated laws, policies, and reforms by the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology. The meeting aimed to build an IT-rich Bangladesh and was held at the conference room of the Sylhet Deputy Commissioner.
Taiyeb also sought the cooperation of the local administration and political leaders in recovering lands occupied by Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) and the Bangladesh Post Office in Sylhet.
He highlighted that the new telecom policy, once approved, is expected to enhance service quality due to increased market competition, ultimately benefiting customers.
Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division Abdun Naser Khan and Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Md. Sarwar Alam also spoke at the event.
