Gaibandha: A body of a 70-year-old woman was recovered from a bush hole at Hasanpara village under Dhaperhat union of Sadullapur upazila here this noon. The deceased is identified as Momtaz Begum, wife of Badsha Munshi of the village.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, family sources reported that Momtaz Begum went missing on Friday morning. Since then, her relatives had been searching for her at various possible locations but were unable to trace her whereabouts. On Saturday morning, locals found her body in a nearby jungle in an abandoned condition and informed the police instantly.
Later, the police of Sadullapur thana rushed to the spot, recovered the body, and sent it to Gaibandha General Hospital morgue. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadullapur thana Taaz Uddin stated that the body of the woman had been kept there after killing her. Four suspects, including her sons Gafur, Nur Alom, and Sojib, and neighbor Mukul have been detained and brought to the thana for interrogation about the killing.
