Birganj: Liton Islam, 32, a resident of Kashipur village in Mohanpur Union, has achieved remarkable success by hatching ducklings from eggs using an incubator. His business has become a significant source of income, earning him approximately Tk 3 lakh per month through the sale of ducklings.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Liton’s method of hatching ducklings is gaining popularity in the northern part of the country due to its profitability at a low cost. The young entrepreneur shared that his father had been using the traditional husk method for hatching ducklings for the past 12 years. To assist and modernize the family business, Liton decided to invest in an incubator machine.
Liton’s venture involves hatching ducklings from various breeds of duck eggs. He mentioned that having a pond adjacent to their house simplifies duck farming for his family. The continuous laying of eggs by older ducks eliminates the need for purchasing additional eggs, thereby maximizing profit with minimal expenses.
Beyond breeding and selling local duck breeds, Liton has expanded his farm to include advanced breeds from different countries. These include China’s Jinding, Beijing, Pinky, England’s Khaki Campbell, and India’s Runner. Liton is optimistic about the future growth of his farm and is enthusiastic about the prospects it holds.
