Jibannagar: Black gram (Maskalai daal) seeds and chemical fertilizers were distributed among small and marginal farmers in Jibannagar upazila of the district today under the government's agricultural incentive programme. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Al-Amin Hossain distributed the agri inputs as the chief guest at a function held on the premises of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, among others, Upazila Agriculture Officer Alamgir Hossain, Upazila Engineer Ashraful Islam, Social Service Officer Zakir Uddin, Cooperative Officer Nur Alam, Agricultural Extension Officer Pavel Rana, and Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officers Shaha Alam, Mahbub Bin Sadiq, and Yasin Ali were present at the event.
Under the incentive programme, a total of 170 selected farmers from the upazila received five kilograms of black gram seeds, 10 kilograms of DAP fertilizer, and five kilograms of MOP fertilizer each. The initiative aims to promote the cultivation of Maskalai daal and boost pulse production in the region.
