Election Commission Publishes Supplementary Voter List with Over 12.63 Crore Voters

Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) has released a supplementary voter list, stating that as of August 31, 2025, a total of 12,63,07,504 individuals are recognized as registered voters.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, EC's senior secretary Akhtar Ahmed detailed that the list comprises 6,41,00,455 male voters and 6,22,05,819 female voters. The supplementary list has also addressed the inclusion of new voters and the removal of those who are deceased or otherwise ineligible. Specifically, the list incorporates 1,37,642 new voters, including 94,192 males, 43,444 females, and six transgender individuals.

Following a thorough field-level scrutiny, the EC has removed 1,038 voters from the list, comprising 653 males and 385 females. Additionally, the number of transgender voters now stands at 1,230.

The EC's senior official emphasized that this supplementary list is part of a three-phase process, with the final list to be issued after completing all phases. This supplementary list represents the second phase of the commission's efforts to ensure an accurate and updated voter registry.
