Muzakker Ahmadul Hoque Appointed Honorary Consul of Croatia in Bangladesh

Dhaka: Kazi Shah Muzakker Ahmadul Hoque has been appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Croatia to Bangladesh. The appointment was made by Croatian President Zoran Milanovic on May 29, 2025, and formally recognized by the Government of Bangladesh through the granting of an Exequatur on Monday, said a press release here today.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Hoque described the appointment as “an honor and a profound responsibility,” expressing his hope to work towards strengthening friendship, cooperation, and mutual development between Bangladesh and Croatia.



Croatia, located in Southeast Europe with its capital in Zagreb, is known for its cultural heritage and Adriatic coastline. Since gaining independence in 1991, Croatia has joined NATO in 2009, the European Union in 2013, and both the Schengen Zone and the Eurozone in 2023. The country has developed vibrant sectors such as tourism, IT, pharmaceuticals, and shipbuilding.



The new honorary consulate is anticipated to enhance bilateral relations between Dhaka and Zagreb, as stated in the press release.
