Narail: A day-long free eye camp was held at the Sharif Atiar Rahman Smriti Parishad office in Narail today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the camp was jointly organized by Sharif Atiar Rahman Smriti Parishad, the Friend Hollos Foundation, and Khulna BNSB Eye Hospital. Deputy Commissioner Sharmin Akhter Jahan inaugurated the event as the chief guest.
Several dignitaries attended the camp, including Civil Surgeon Dr. Abdur Rashid, District BNP General Secretary Md. Monirul Islam, and former Chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad Bir Muktijoddha Sharif Humayun Kabir. BNP leader Tabibur Rahman Monu Jamaddar, President of Sharif Atiar Rahman Smriti Parishad Bir Muktijoddha Advocate SA Matin, and other notable figures such as Dr. Sharif Jahangir Atiq Prince, Dr. Sharif Shamim Atiq, Khulna BNSB Eye Hospital doctors Asif Hasan and Dr. Jobair Rial, and former General Secretary of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Narail Unit Kazi Ismail Hossain Liton were also present.
The camp provided free eye treatment to approximately 1,500 patients, with 50 of them undergoing cataract operations.
