Cumilla: A man was killed and another injured in a road accident in Tanki area on the Companiganj-Nabinagar regional road in Muradnagar upazila of the district today. The victim was identified as Malu Mia, 55, son of late Chandar Ali of Laourfatepur village in Nabinagar upazila of the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred when a cow-laden truck collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, resulting in the death of Malu Mia on the spot and critically injuring the CNG driver, Sagar Mia.
Injured Sagar Mia was admitted to Muradnagar Upazila Health Complex, where he remains in a critical condition. The police have seized both vehicles involved in the collision, as confirmed by Bangra Bazar Thana OC (investigation) Anowar Hossain.
A case has been filed regarding the incident as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
