Uttara: The National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS) has released one more burn victim from the fighter jet crash at the Milestone School and College in the capital's Uttara. Milestone School and College teacher Nishi Akter, aged 29, was released from the facility this afternoon as her health condition improved, confirmed NIBPS acting resident surgeon Sultan Mahmud.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, with her release, a total of 15 burn victims from the jet crash have now been discharged from the burn institute. However, 22 burn victims are still receiving treatment at the facility.
Earlier, on July 21, a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet tragically crashed into a two-storey building of the Milestone School and College in Uttara shortly after taking off around 1pm. The incident resulted in the deaths of 35 individuals, including the pilot, as reported by health ministry officials.
