Bicycles and Sewing Machines Distributed to Students and Women in Narsingdi

Narsingdi: Belabor upazila administration in Narsingdi today distributed 25 bicycles among meritorious students and 16 sewing machines along with sanitary pads to underprivileged women. The distribution program took place at the playground of Hosen Nagar Pilot High School in Narayanpur union with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Abdul Karim in the chair.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event saw the presence of Mohammad Wahid Hossain, Chairman (Senior Secretary) of the Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council (BEPRC), as the chief guest. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Aziz Sartaj Zayed moderated the programme.



Upon receiving a sewing machine, Rikta Akter shared the impact it would have on her family’s financial situation. She expressed that the sewing machine would allow her to tailor clothes and bring financial stability to her household. Similarly, Sohana Eli, a student who received a bicycle, explained that her commute to school would become significantly easier, reducing the long distances she previously walked.



The event was attended by other notable figures including Narsingdi Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rashed Hossain Chowdhury, Chairman of the Hosen Nagar Pilot High School Management Committee Md. Shahid Hossain, District Secondary Education Officer Md. S.M. Abdul Khalek, and Officer-in-Charge of Belabo Police Station Mir Mahbubur Rahman.
