Meshu Content with Team’s Preparation in Bahrain

Manama: Bangladesh U-23 national football team’s assistant coach Atiqur Rahman Meshu expressed satisfaction with the team’s preparation for the upcoming AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers in Vietnam. The team is currently in Bahrain, where they engaged in two preparation matches against their Bahraini counterparts.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Meshu highlighted the significance of the training sessions in Bahrain, stating that all 24 players had the opportunity to showcase their abilities during the matches. “We came to Bahrain with a target of playing two preparation matches. we have been able to test these players’ capability in two matches because all twenty-four players were given the chance to play,” Meshu mentioned in a video message.

The assistant coach emphasized the strategic objective of forming a cohesive team for the Vietnam tournament. He also expressed gratitude to the Bangladesh Football Federation for facilitating the Bahrain training camp, which he described as an overall good prepa
ration for the qualifiers. Meshu concluded by urging the team to strive for qualification in the Vietnam tournament.

The Bangladesh U-23 squad has been participating in a twelve-day training camp in Bahrain since August 14, gearing up for their qualifiers campaign. They are set to compete in Group C against hosts Vietnam on September 3, followed by matches against Yemen on September 6 and Singapore on September 9.

The team’s journey in Bahrain saw a narrow 1-0 defeat to the Bahrain U-23 football team in the first closed-door friendly match, setting the stage for further preparations and adjustments ahead of the qualifiers.
