Dhaka: After beating the Bangladesh Women’s Red team, Bangladesh Under-15 boys pulled off a 41-run victory against Bangladesh Women’s Green team too by DLS method in the Women’s Challenge Cup at BKSP-3 ground on Friday.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) organized the Women’s Challenge Cup as part of the national Women’s team’s preparation for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup. The tournament features the Women’s national team, divided into Red and Green teams, along with the Boys Under-15 team, competing in a double-leg format.
The match was initially reduced to 39 overs due to rain. After batting first, the Under-15 boys managed to score 189-7, with a standout performance by Kheyal Roy Omm, who contributed 82 runs. The game faced another rain interruption, reducing it further to 30 overs, and a revised target of 177 runs was set for the Women’s Green team.
Despite the challenge, the Women’s Green team was restricted to 135-7, owing to disciplined bowling from the Under-15 boys. Rubya Haider Jhilik was the top scorer for the Green team with 51 runs.
