Remittance Inflow Sees 7.4% Growth Till August 20

Dhaka: Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 7.4 percent, reaching $1,642 million in the first 20 days of August, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank issued here today.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, last year, during the same period, the country’s remittance inflow was $1,530 million. This indicates a significant rise in the remittance inflow compared to the previous year.



During the period from July 2025 to August 20, 2025, of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances amounting to $4,120 million. In comparison, the remittance inflow during the same period of the previous fiscal year was $3,443 million. This growth underscores the increasing contribution of expatriates to the country’s economy.
