BGB Seizes Illegal Goods Worth Tk. 4.57cr in Sylhet

Sylhet: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized smuggled goods worth Tk. 4.57 crore from the Sylhet border areas this morning. On a tip-off, multiple special teams conducted operations in Sangram, Banglabazar, Sonalichela, Tamabil, Lafarge, and Dibir Haor border areas, resulting in the confiscation of a large quantity of smuggled goods, a BGB official reported.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Lieutenant Colonel Md Nazmul Haque, commander of the Sylhet BGB-48 Battalion, stated that the seized items include Indian mehedy, betel nuts, cows, flower sweeps, candies, blankets, sugar, beer, motorcycles, and barky. Additionally, a special patrol team from the battalion headquarters, in cooperation with the Bangladesh Army, conducted a raid at Nanadigram in Goainghat upazila, seizing Indian cumin, mehedy, and Kit Kat chocolate.



The BGB commander emphasized that the operations against smugglers and smuggling activities will continue. He also mentioned that the process for taking necessary legal measures is currently underway.
