Kafrul: A young man was crushed by a cargo lift in the capital’s Karful area on Wednesday night.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased was identified as Akbar Hossain, 26, a private car driver and son of Mohammad Abdul Hai, from Paschim Joynagar village under Lalmohan Police Station in Bhola district. Akbar had been living in a rented house in the capital’s Pallabi area.
The accident occurred around 8:30 pm on Wednesday, as reported by police and family sources. Mohammad Ashraful Alam, the victim’s brother, said he received a message last night stating that his brother had been seriously injured after being crushed by a cargo lift in the Shewrapara area and was undergoing treatment at Green Life Hospital.
As Akbar’s condition deteriorated, he was later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
