Remittance Inflow Rises by 13.7pc in First 16 Days of August

Dhaka: Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 13.7 percent, reaching US$1,264 million in the first 16 days of August, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank issued here today. Last year, the same period, the country’s remittance inflow was $1,112 million.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the period from July 2025 to August 16, 2025, of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances of $3,742 million. This was only $3,026 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year.



The data highlights a notable increase in remittance inflow, which is significant for the country’s economy. The rise indicates a strong financial contribution from expatriates, contributing positively to the national economy. The comparison with the previous fiscal year shows a steady increase in remittance inflow, reflecting the growing financial engagement of the expatriate community with their home country.
