Rajshahi: The central committee of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has approved a 113-member committee for Rajshahi University (RU), while partial committees have also been formed for 11 student dormitories of the university. The committees were published on the JCD Central unit’s official Facebook page on Saturday night, signed by President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in the RU unit, Sultan Ahmed has been named president and Sarder Jahurul Islam general secretary. Other significant positions filled include Sakilur Rahman as senior vice-president, Shafiqul Islam as senior joint general secretary, and Mahmudul Mithu as organizing secretary. The committee also features 25 vice-presidents, 28 joint general secretaries, and 23 assistant organizing secretaries.
Further positions include Ar Rafi Khan as publicity secretary, Mehedi Hassan as sports secretary, Zannatul Ferdous as female student affairs secretary, and Shakhawat Hossain as legal affairs secretary. Partial committees have been formed for 11 halls, although female student hall committees are yet to be announced.
For Shah Makhdum Hall, Zubayer Hossain and Mosharraf Haque have been appointed president and general secretary, respectively. Abdullah Al Mobarak and Rezwanul Islam will hold the same positions for Shaheed Sohrawardi Hall, with Maruf Hassan and Khalid Mahmud for Sher-E-Bangla Fazlul Haque Hall. At Bijoy Hall, Gazi Ferdous Hassan and Badiuzzaman Rakib will serve as president and general secretary, along with Tanveer Hassan and Saik Rahman for Madar Baksha Hall, and Reazul Islam and Saimun Ibne Aron for Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hall.
Other appointments include Habibul Bashar Prince and Imran Hossain Khan for Shaheed Habibur Rahman Hall, Hasim Rana and Abdullah Al Nishat for Matihar Hall, Mehedi Hassan Biswash and Zunayed Ahmed for Syed Amir Ali Hall, Murad Hossain and Mridul Hossain for Nobab Abdul Latif Hall, and Mehedi Hassan and Sabuj Shahriar for Shaheed Shamsuzzoha Hall. The hall committees have been instructed to announce full committees within the next seven days.
