Chattogram: Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal No 3 following the formation of a low-pressure area over the West Central Bay and the adjoining North-west Bay off the north Andhra-south Odisha coast.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this low-pressure system is expected to move west-northwestwards and may intensify further. The Met Office has issued a special bulletin warning of a steep pressure gradient over the North Bay, which may lead to gusty or squally weather conditions impacting the maritime ports, the North Bay, and the adjoining coastal regions of Bangladesh.

In response to these developments, all fishing boats and trawlers operating over the North Bay have been instructed to stay close to the coast and exercise caution until further notice. Authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation to provide timely updates and ensure the safety of maritime operations in the affected regions.
