Dhaka: The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,580 cases against motor vehicles, owners, and drivers for violating traffic rules in a single day across the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a media release from the DMP stated that these cases were filed and fines collected on Saturday, August 16, as part of their regular operations targeting traffic rule violators. The DMP’s ongoing efforts aim to enforce discipline on city streets.
The DMP Media and Public Relations Division reported that 283 motor vehicles were impounded and 127 vehicles were towed due to inadequate driving practices. These measures are part of the DMP’s strategy to enhance the traffic system in the capital, facilitating smoother movement for city residents.
