Khulna: The joint forces conducted a successful operation last night in Rupsa upazila, leading to the arrest of four criminals. The operation resulted in the confiscation of a foreign-made pistol, ammunition, a machete, two knives, a large Swiss Gear knife, and two kilograms of cannabis, as confirmed by Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rupsha police station.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the joint forces team acted on a tip-off and executed a raid at the residence of Hafiz, the prime suspect in the Sabbir murder case. This took place in the Madhyapara Rajapur area under Aichgati Union in Rupsha Upazila. During the operation, the team apprehended Sheikh Hafiz, 32, and his associates Tanjil Hasan Joyti, 37, Md Masum Sheikh, 22, and Dipu Sheikh, 24.
The OC stated that the arrested individuals are recognized as top criminals in the area, locally known as "B Company." They are implicated in multiple cases, including those related to murder and drugs. Legal procedures are currently underway to file cases against them under the Arms Act and the Narcotics Control Act.
