Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today claimed that falsehoods are being propagated against the BNP’s political activities.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Fakhrul expressed concern that the BNP is being unjustly blamed for various negative occurrences within the country. He argued that these allegations are part of an intentional effort to tarnish the party’s reputation because of its potential to govern the nation in the future.

Fakhrul made these remarks during a discussion titled “Expectations of the Youth and BNP’s Plan for the Future of Bangladesh,” organized by Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal, and Swechchhasebak Dal in observance of International and National Youth Day at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center.

BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman participated in the event virtually as the chief guest. Fakhrul underscored the transformative power of the youth, stating that they have the capability to remove oppressive leaders like Sheikh Hasina. He emphasized the need to establish a strong foundation to propel the country forward.

The program commenced at 3:30 pm with a recitation from the Holy Quran. Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib delivered the welcome speech, while Swechchhasebak Dal President SM Jilani presided over the event.

Other notable attendees included BNP Acting Chairperson’s Adviser Mahdi Amin, BNP Publicity Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna, and General Secretary Nurul Islam Nayan.
