Rangpur: Many unemployed youth are becoming self-reliant through entrepreneurship after receiving training from the Department of Youth Development (DYD) to contribute to building a prosperous new Bangladesh. This observation came today in a discussion followed by distribution of certificates and loan cheques among young entrepreneurs at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room in the city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Rangpur district administration and the DYD jointly organized the event to mark the National and International Youth Day-2025. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal was present as the chief guest at the event with Deputy Director of the DYD Md Abdul Faruk in the chair. Rangpur Superintendent of Police Md Abu Naim and District DYD Coordinator Agriculturist Md Abul Kashem delivered speeches as special guests at the event.
Participating in an open discussion, successful self-employed people shared their experiences of success with training and loans from the DYD. The Deputy Commissioner said that the DYD has taken multifaceted initiatives for the employment of the youth. Many of them are becoming self-reliant by receiving training from the DYD to take the country forward. He emphasized that the youth can create employment opportunities for themselves and others through agriculture, fisheries, and cattle rearing or farm management without relying solely on jobs.
He further mentioned that becoming an entrepreneur requires proper planning. There may be obstacles and dangers at the beginning of any work, but if anyone does not get discouraged and remains patient, success will definitely come. The DYD Deputy Director highlighted that many people have become entrepreneurs themselves by taking training and loans from the department and have also provided employment to many unemployed youth. He noted that trainees are not only finding employment in the country but also abroad, urging the youth to become self-reliant by taking technical education and utilizing technology.
At the end, loan cheques worth Taka 11.77 lakh and training certificates were distributed among the successful and energetic youth entrepreneurs of the district.
