Sakline Mostafa Sajid Clinches Chess Championship Title

Dhaka: FIDE Master Sakline Mostafa Sajid of Titas Club emerged as the champion, securing the title with one match remaining in the July Mass Uprising International Rating Chess competition at Youth Tower in Shewrapara.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sakline Mostafa Sajid earned the title by achieving a perfect score of six points after the sixth round of the competition. In the second position, five players shared the spot with 4.5 points each. These players include FIDE Master Subrota Biswas of Sports Bangla, FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Titas Club, FIDE Master Md. Sharif Hossain, Women's FIDE Master Warsia Khushbu of Bangladesh Navy, and Anata Choudhury of Sadharan Bima Corporation Sporting Club.

Four players shared the third position with four points. These players were International Master Md. Minhaz Uddin of Bangladesh Navy, FIDE Master Mehdi Hasan Parag, Avik Sarker, and Rayan Rashid Mugdho of Leonine Chess Club.

In the sixth or penultimate round of the competition, FIDE Master Sakline Mostafa Sajid defeated FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia. FIDE Master Md. Sharif Hossain shared a point with FIDE Master Subrota Biswas, and Anata Choudhury outplayed FIDE Master Sheikh Nasir Ahmed. Woman FIDE Master Warsia Khushbu triumphed over Tashriq Saihan Shan, and International Master Md. Minhaj Uddin defeated Sheikh Rashedul Hasan. Candidate Master Sohel Chowdhury split a point with FIDE Master Khandaker Aminul Islam, while FIDE Master Mehdi Hasan Parag won against Candidate Master Md. Jamal Uddin. Candidate Master Avik Sarker outclassed FIDE Master Mohammad Javed, and Rayan Rashid Mugdho overcame Delwar Hossain.

Sarwar Hossain Ullas defeated Woman International Master Wadifa Ahmed, Candidate Master Md. Sajidul Haque beat Kazi Saiyf, and Md. Manjor Alam won against Muhtady Tajwar Nasheed. Ahnaf Zarif Haque shared a point with Mohammad Shakil, and woman Candidate Master Nusrat Jahan Alo defeated Tanvir Alam. Abrar Reazul Ahnaf Mohammad shared a point with Md. Nasir Uddin, and Candidate Master Mahtab Uddin Ahmed defeated Awsaf Chowdhury. Azaan Mahmud received a walk-over against Siam Chowdhury.
