CPA Signs MoU with Robi for 5G Services

Chattogram: Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) has signed an agreement with private company Robi Axentech PLC to introduce smart port services based on 5G technology. CPA Chairman Rear Admiral M Moniruzzaman and Robi Axentech CEO Adil Hossain Noble signed the agreement at the Bandar Bhaban.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Ashiq Chowdhury was present during the signing ceremony. CPA sources indicated that the agreement aims to explore the possibilities of establishing a private network of 5G technology at the Chattogram port to facilitate smart port services.



The proposed smart port services are set to include advanced security management, automated testing labs, smart access control, and intelligent control systems for vehicles and gantry cranes. The port chairman stressed that this initiative marks an important step towards transforming the country’s main port into a modern, technology-based smart port.



Robi Axentech’s 5G technology is anticipated to play a crucial role in enhancing the country’s port services by making them more dynamic and effective. The CPA chairman expressed the expectation that Robi would complete the work within the year.
