Vientiane: Trishna Rani delivered a remarkable hat-trick as Bangladesh overwhelmed Timor-Leste with an 8-0 victory in their second Group H match of the AFC Under-20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Thailand qualifiers at the New Laos National Stadium.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Trishna’s hat-trick was complemented by goals from Sinha Shikha, Shanti Mardi, Nabiran Khatun, Sagorika, and Munki Akhter, as Bangladesh dominated the one-sided match, leading 4-0 at halftime.
Shikha initiated the scoring for Bangladesh with a header from inside the danger zone, capitalizing on a corner from Sapna Rani in the 20th minute. Shanti Mardi extended the lead with a goal from a corner kick that found the net after striking the left side bar in the 33rd minute. Nabiran Khatun added a third goal with a header off a corner from Mardi in the 36th minute. Trishna scored Bangladesh’s fourth goal with a close-range shot following a combined attack in the 45+4th minute.
Bangladesh continued their assault in the second half, adding another four goals to secure their second consecutive victory in the tournament. Trishna scored her second goal and Bangladesh’s fifth in the 57th minute, while Sagorika made it 6-0 in the 73rd minute. Trishna completed her hat-trick with the seventh goal in the 82nd minute, and Munki Akhter completed the scoring in the 90+6th minute.
Previously, the Bangladesh team had started their campaign with a 3-1 win over hosts Laos. They will face South Korea in their final group match on Sunday, August 10. The outcome of this group will be decided in the last match.
The tournament features 32 teams divided into eight groups, competing in a round-robin league format. The eight group winners and the three best runners-up will join hosts Thailand in April 2026.
